Long before it was an award show, NUFA was a conviction: that the North's stories are best told by the people who live them. That conviction runs through a growing body of documentary work being produced by members in collaboration with cultural institutions.
These projects sit at the intersection of craft and preservation — recording oral histories, customs and ceremonies through a cinematic lens, so they can be shared with audiences far beyond Northern Uganda.
It's slow, patient work, and it rarely makes the red carpet. But it's exactly the kind of storytelling NUFA was built to support.
